How ChatGPT can benefit my ecommerce

The ease of use, the possibility to follow the thread of a conversation and the amazing amount of information are just some of the features that make ChatGPT a tool to talk about. How can we integrate it in the best way to our ecommerce?

A few days ago while watching The Good Place (great sitcom), one of the characters, Janet, started to look more familiar than usual, as if I had seen her somewhere else before.

Janet | The Good Place

This character is something like a walking database. A kind of AI that knows everything about the universe and based on what you ask it, it will give you information.

Janet appears just by name and dialogues with the characters almost as if she were a human being. Every now and then she is rebooted and thanks to that her new versions become more intelligent, as she acquires the knowledge of her previous "lives".

In fact, in the universe that the series presents, there are infinite Janets that are learning and growing in wisdom, being able to be more or less complete. Each Janet is unique and is formed as it interacts with humans and the environment that surrounds it.

As I got deeper into the series, I further confirmed that I knew Janet from somewhere....

An AI, which works with an information base, which responds to everything you ask it and is capable of dialogue, which you can reboot and which will be updated more and more...

Where did I see this before?

Of course! ChatGPT is our real-world Janet.

This tool, although not yet capable of making objects like Janet appear (for now), offers us a mind-boggling amount of information. Many are beginning to wonder if this type of intelligence could replace Google as a search engine.

In a nutshell, what is ChatGPT?

It was created by the OpenAI organization (born in 2016) and is a. Generative AI: A type of Artificial Intelligence that generates content whether it is images, video, audio, text or code.

ChatGPT is trained to perform natural language processing tasks. Basically, from a question or an utterance, it will offer different types of texts.

The tool works as a conversation and this is one of its most important differentials. During the conversation, we can maintain a common thread and a specific context, just like a chat like the ones we usually have in other platforms with human beings.

Another reason why it became so popular is the ease of use, the user experience democratized the tool and made it accessible to everyone. In fact, in 5 days it reached 1 million users.

Time to reach one million users per platform

The key question is how can I leverage ChatGPT in my ecommerce?

The main objective of chat integration is to improve your e-commerce experience, saving resources and achieving greater profitability.

1. Customer service: personalization and real time customer service

You can integrate this tool to your website and automate it to answer frequently asked questions in your ecommerce or to function as a live chat.

AI can access and retain information to a greater extent than a human being, giving them the power to create a highly personalized customer experience once you provide them with your business information.

You will be able to use it to attend:

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
  • Order tracking: ChatGPT can provide customers with real-time updates related to order status, tracking information and estimated delivery time.
  • Returns
  • Product recommendations
2. Content creation:

While many believe the platform could supplant content writers, a human is still needed to validate the quality and relevance of the content.

Based on your target audience and brand identity ChatGPT will be able to create a myriad of content ideas in various formats.

It is a great ally for creative writing, translations, improving drafts and can even give you feedback on texts you send it.

You can ask him to write:

  • Titles and subtitles based on keywords
  • Copys for different Social Networks (even hashtags will be included!)
  • Newsletters
  • Blog Articles

It can also help you check the spelling and structure of texts.

3. User experience in your ecommerce

The user experience on a website is a key point to take into account. If I decide to buy on a site and I can't move forward at some step of the way, I probably won't complete my purchase.

It is important to understand who our buyer persona is and based on their shopping behavior, to offer them the best possible experience.

ChatGPT will help us with:

  • Navigability: Verify that the site is clear and easy to use.
  • Design: Attractive to the user
  • Content: The content should be clear, concise and explain the products and services offered.
  • Loading speed: Improve your site's loading speed for efficient shopping
  • Checkout process: Optimize the checkout process to make it simple and reduce cart abandonment rate.
4. SEO: find and optimize our keywords

If we want to understand what could be the keywords of our product to write based on them, ChatGPT can certainly give us a hand.

It can help us to know how our audience searches for information about the area in which we operate. For example, we could ask you what statements people of a certain area and age use to search in Google for women's shoes.

A tool that changes the rules of the game and proposes a new approach for companies.

How much more could it learn? What's in store for us from new versions of AI?
